Talk to an accountant, not a funnel.
Tell us where the books stand. A partner reads every enquiry and replies within one business day with a straight answer about scope and fee.
The letter countersigns itself as you read.
Every engagement follows the same four clauses — here they are, stamped in the order they'll happen.
1. Within one business day
A partner replies — a person who has read your message, not a queue.
2. The scoping call
Thirty minutes; we look at the books before we talk about the fee.
3. The proposal
Fixed scope and the fee you computed, in writing.
4. On signature
Onboarding checklist issued; your close calendar starts.
Pre-engagement questions.
Do I need to clean my books before you'll take me?
+No — arriving messy is normal. Cleanup is the first movement of the engagement, quoted with the estimator.
What do you need from my previous accountant?
+A handover file and access; we make the request and chase it ourselves.
When in the year can I switch?
+Any month. Mid-year switches carry a short overlap while we tie out the opening balances.
What does onboarding cost?
+The cleanup engagement is quoted separately and fixed before we start — no surprises on the first invoice.
